The 'four passes' tour
|
A full day out driving through some of Snowdonia's most
spectacular and rugged scenery. Our route will vary depending
on our starting
point but will include the
Nantlle Pass with spectacular
views of Snowdon, the wild
landscape of the Llanberis
Pass, the desolate beauty
of the Nant Francon Pass and
finally the steep climb over the Crimea Pass. En route we shall
pass amongst the highest mountains in Snowdonia, drive alongside
tranquil lakes and pass by romantic castles. There will be plenty
of time, too, to stop off at any of the places of interest we
shall pass on our journey. |
Powys Castle and Gardens
Driving over the Berwyn Mountains, site of the ancient Welsh
'Otherland', we can
pause at the highest waterfall
in Wales, Pystyll Rhaedre,
before travelling on to
Welshpool and Powys Castle
with it's world-famous gardens.
Our return can be by a variety
of routes but perhaps the tranquil waters of Llyn Vyrnwy and
the highest road in Wales might appeal? |
