Background


My name is David Brown. I am in my early forties and live near the city
of Bath with my wife, Heather. I grew up in Nottingham and moved to
Bath in 1980 to study Business Administration at the University of Bath,
graduating in 1984. By then I had fallen in love with the city and so
took up a job in marketing with a small, local company where I stayed
for some ten years. Seeking a change of career I joined another small
company in 1995 and became the manager of a retail shop in Bath
city centre, selling fairly traded goods from around the world. It was
during this time that I began to encounter the many tourists who came
to Bath, often advising them on what to see and where to go. I began
to realise that most of them did not know the area at all and were
missing out on some of the best sites, mainly because it was too
complicated to arrange transport. Thus was the concept of Scenic Travel
conceived.

Initially the idea was confined to the area immediately around Bath but
it occurred to Heather and I that there was a wider market to be tapped.
For many years (in my case over 40!) we have been visiting North
Wales and eventually decided to purchase our second home there.
Being so familiar with the area it only slowly dawned on us that North
Wales is almost a hidden place - so few people seem to know it or to
have visited it, and yet it contains such a wealth of scenery and history
that few parts of Britain could compete. We decided to use Scenic Travel
to open up this most beautiful of landscapes to people who would
appreciate its rugged, majestic mountains and rich, fertile valleys.

Scenic Travel is a small, private business with just the one vehicle and
driver, however we see that as a strength. As the face of Scenic Travel
I will offer you my undivided attention. Your holiday and your
enjoyment is my only concern for as long as you are in my care.
I have held a full UK driving license since 1979, driving several
hundred thousand miles in that time and I will drive you throughout
our time together, acting as your guide and looking after you during
your stay in our Welsh cottage. (North Wales breaks only).
I am friendly, knowledgeable and will put you at your ease from
the moment you join me. I believe we have a unique product to
offer and provide a very special, personal service. You can truly
be pampered, yet retain as much control as you want.
